PEF Junior Ambassadors play a key role in volunteer outreach and recruitment for our Summer Enrichment Volunteer Program. They distribute fliers to their neighborhood hangouts, school or college, provide information to their teachers and counselors, and encourage friends to participate. They provide back to PEF a list of their outreach points for future reference.

Does your business or association community engagement through volunteerism? There is no better way to get involved with a community than through its public schools. From one-day hands-on school and playground beautification projects for groups, to on-going committee service work for individuals, we have the right opportunity for you, your colleagues, business, or employees. 50 young leaders from across Los Angeles County in the C5LA Leadership Program recently laid the foundation for the new edible garden at Washington STEAM middle!

Every year PEF helps support the all-district art exhibition, "No Boundaries", which opens on Friday March 9, 2018. We are seeking adult volunteers who can commit to regular shifts weekdays Feb 26-March 7 to install in the gallery. Volunteers also needed on Tuesday 3/31 to take down the show. This is a great opportunity to support our young artists and it's a lot of fun! Email apultz@pasedfoundation.org

Community Ambassadors believe in public education in Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre, the work of PEF, and want to help spread the word.  As a Community Ambassador you will have inside information on PEF programs and events, you will become trained on our presentation, "15 Things You May Not Know About PUSD” in order to share it, facilitate discussion at neighborhood meetings, churches, businesses, and other venues, and share posts from PEF on social media.  Perhaps you are a member of a neighborhood association, community group or other organization that would like to host a presentation? Get in touch with us!

Our award-winning K-6 arts program “My Masterpieces: Discovering Art in My Community” needs adult volunteers to help chaperone students on field trips to arts and culture institutions such as The Norton Simon Museum, The Huntington Gardens and others. From time to time we also receive requests for volunteers to help chaperone other school field trips. These chaperones must receive a PUSD District “greenbadge,” which requires an orientation, FBI Livescan, and recent negative TB test.

When: Orientation and screening scheduled ASAP.  Trip dates TBD with 72-hour prior notice

How Long: Field trips typically last ½ to a full school day
