PUSD PROGRAMS

The Pasadena Educational Foundation assists PUSD in raising funds to enhance and sustain its core programs. Such programs include:

The ARTS

PEF strives to ensure that the Arts are a part of the educational programs offered to students in the PUSD. PEF raises funds to support the visual and performing arts, musical instruments for schools, staff development for arts, the No Boundaries All District Art Exhibit, My Masterpieces, music mentorships, and more.

COLLEGE AND CAREER PATHWAYS

EARLY CHILDHOOD

Since 1987, the Early Childhood Program has provided an early start to school for low income three-and four-year-old children at each of the 22 elementary school sites in the PUSD in an environment appropriate for preschool age children.

HEALTH PROGRAMS

Health Programs of the PUSD provide a vital service to our students, including comprehensive health care by the nurse practitioners, social services by case managers and mental health professionals, immunizations for hundreds of students in the health clinic, and clothing and programs for PUSD families in transition due to homelessness. PEF raises funds for all areas of health, including the five Healthy Start Family Centers at Jackson, Rose City, Loma Alta, Cleveland, and Madison.

PASADENA LEARNS

This model after school program provides enrichment and tutoring in 21 PUSD elementary, middle, and high schools. PEF assists by securing grants to fund the PasadenaLEARNs programs.

PUSD SCIENCE

PEF raises funds to provide state-of-the-art science equipment for middle and high school science labs, and raises funds for staff development, materials, and equipment for the inquiry based PUSD science program in the elementary and middle schools.

TECHNOLOGY

PEF installed new state-of-the-art computer labs in all of the PUSD high schools. In addition, PEF is funding the development of a computer programming course to advance technology education for high school students. PEF has also assisted the PUSD with requests for technology upgrades through grant requests, assistance with the writing of the Technology Plan and the application for QZAB monies to improve the infrastructure.
