PEF offers technical assistance to the PUSD by coordinating and writing grant applications to government agencies as requested by the PUSD. In recent years grant applications have brought over $5 million annually to PUSD projects from government grants.

These include:

California Career Pathway Trust  $3,000,000

21st Century Community Learning Centers for High Schools - $875,000/year
California Department of Education provides grants for Pasadena LEARNs to provide after school programs at four  PUSD high schools. 

Kaiser Thriving Schools Grant / Peaceful Playgrounds - $70,000

McKinney - Vento Homeless Education Grant

Magnet Schools Assistance Program Supplemental Funding - $66,000

Commuity Development Block Grants Through City of Pasadena - $200,000

PEF also writes grants to foundations and corporations to support education initiatives in the PUSD.

Pasadena Educational Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $75,000 grant from the S. Mark Taper Foundation.  These funds will support the five Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Healthy Start Family Centers located at Madison, Jackson, and Cleveland Elementary Schools, Eliot Middle School, and the Education Center.
