How your contributions have helped...

  • Since its inception in 1971, the Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) has raised more than $100 million to support projects that enhance teaching and learning in the Pasadena Unified School District.

  • Over 1,100 elementary and high school students participated in PEF’s five-week 2012 Summer Enrichment Program, which offers an array of academic and creative classes.  Financial assistance was awarded to more than 350 students.

  • The Robotics Program, coordinated and supported by PEF, is now offered at all PUSD middle schools.  More than 700 students now learn to build and program LEGO robots, thereby developing important math and computer programming skills.

  • With the support of PEF, hundreds of low-income students receive free immunizations and physical exams and more than 4,000 students receive medical attention through the PUSD Health Clinic and on-campus Family Health Centers.

  • Each year a diverse group of business and community leaders shadow PUSD principals through the PEF-coordinated Principal for a Day program.  By promoting open dialogue regarding the accomplishments and challenges facing our students and teachers today, the Principal for a Day program cultivates stronger relationships among schools, businesses and the community.

  • PEF’s Teacher and all School Grant Program provides vital resources for teachers and principals to purchase equipment and instructional materials that enhance learning, for both individual classrooms as well as entire schools.

  • PEF partners with Pasadena City College and the PUSD to host representatives from over 70 colleges and universities at the Fall College Fair.

  • By securing government and private grants, PEF provides financial assistance to a number of PUSD Programs that include College and Career Pathways, My Masterpieces arts program, and the Healthy Start Family Centers.

  • PEF coordinates and writes grant applications for an array of PUSD programs that include the Mandarin Dual Language Immersion Program, Teacher Training at Muir High School, Middle School Science and Technology, Excellent Middle School Initiative and many more.

These are only a few of the opportunities the Pasadena Educational Foundation has provided students and teachers – and it’s all made possible by your support and belief in what PEF does.
